April
April’s pose of the month is sukhasana, or easy cross-legged pose. This is a really basic pose, but one that we will take a closer look at. Most importantly, we will be using a folded blanket to provide enough support for the hips to be higher than the knees. This creates more ease in the pose, allowing the pelvis to stay neutral, which results in the spineĀ lengthening naturally. Give it a try!

Playing along with the folks over at musasana, we’ll start exploring a different yoga asana, or pose, each month.
This month’s pose is a standing forward bend, known as Uttanasana in Sanskrit.
