With the summer heat, I would encourage some restorative poses during your break. These are a great way to stay cool. Or, try this yin sequence that I designed for rejuvenation.

Starting in March, we will be offering a 4-week series on the chakras, our bodies’ energy centers. This introductory series will be on Monday evenings at the Corning studio from 5:30-7 pm, beginning March 7. Each class will focus on a specific chakra, and will include yoga poses, meditations, essential oils, mudras (hand positions), and a stone to balance and harmonize the energy of the chakra. Handouts will be provided. Cost for the 4-session series is $50. Register for the session and receive a complimentary 30-minute Reiki session with Michelle.
Mark your calendar now for this heart-warming experience of metta and beading. Metta is also known as lovingkindness meditation, and is a process of well-wishing or blessing yourself and others using lines that traditionally focus on happiness, safety, mental and physical well-being and peace. You may remember participating in a brief metta practice at the end of yoga class on occasion. Following is a sample of the phrases.
May you be happy.
May you be healthy and strong.
May you be safe.
May you be peaceful and at ease.
We will explore these and several other guided metta sessions during the workshop, including how to develop a personal metta practice. You will also create a hand-beaded string of beads used as touchstones for the practice. The worshop cost is $20, which includes the class and also a beautiful selection of semi-precious gemstones to create your personalized metta beads. If you happen to have a pair of needle-nosed pliers, please bring them to class.
Pre-registration is required to ensure that we have ample beading supplies for everyone. To register, please call Michelle at 641-202-6821 or email to mjtwilson (AT) gmail (DOT) com by Thursday, Feb. 17.
